Help: Reviewing and/or Updating Your Chapters

We’re almost finished with our Beta! Soon we’ll be letting the world know about StoryFair – and YOUR audiobooks!

We’ve improved the audiobook upload and chapter setting process since we launched, and now’s a great time to make sure your titles are using all the new features, including custom chapter names, better chapter sorting, and sample chapter logic.

See below a step-by-step guide to review each of your audiobook titles and, if neccesary, you might need to re-upload your chapters to ensure the best experience for your listeners.

We appreciate your patience with all the changes as we complete our Beta! We know it’s a lot of buttons to click, but with your help, we’ll be able to ensure authors and narrators finally get a FAIR deal when selling their audiobooks.

Step 1: Select a book to review from your dashboard

On your publisher dashboard, you’ll see the “My Books” link in the left menu. Click there, and on the next screen, select a title to review:

 

Step 2: Scroll down and select “Review my Chapter Order”

At the bottom of your book edit page, there’s a button for you to review your chapters. Click it!

 

Step 3: Review your chapter order, chapter type, and custom chapter name

If something needs correcting, or if you have missing data on any of your chapters, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select “Reset and Replace Chapters”. 

Make sure you’re ready to re-upload your new chapters before you go on to the next step! If you are, just follow the instructions on the screens to upload, sort, and name your chapters. The entire process should take between 5 and 15 minutes per title, depending on how much detail is already included in your audio file metadata.
